Watercolour on paper. Real name Frederick Jack Cleaver. He was primarily a painter of landscapes and portraits. He was also an illustrator, printmaker and writer. He was born in London in 1911 and studied at the Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts and the Royal College of Art, London. He taught at a number of art schools, including the London College of Printing, and exhibited his work at several of the national societies. He had a life-long passion for the theatre and in his spare time designed stage sets and wrote a number of books on the theatre. This is one of three works in stock by this artist.
