Oval stipple engraving of Eleanor Eleanor Gwyn, more commonly known as Nell Gwyn 1650-1687, famous as one of the first actresses on the English stage. She became a long-time mistress of King Charles II of England and Scotland.
In original gilt frame the stipple engraving is by by John Ogborne, considered to be one of the finest stipple engravers at that time.. published by Anthony Molteno 2 January 1802, the engraving is after Sir Peter Lely.
The brown marks on the images are just shadows.
